Polar cities are proposed sustainable high-population-density cities, to be built near the arctic rim, designed to house human beings in the future, in the event that global warming causes the central and middle regions of the earth to become uninhabitable for a long period of time. Although they have not been built yet, some futurists have been giving considerable thought to the concepts involved.

 

This site is currently under construction: The Polar City project itself is driven entirely by volunteers looking to help shape the future. The same goes for this site, so please be patient with it’s development. Goals for the website at first are simple; to help centralize and make available information about, and drive in interest for, the development of Polar Cities.
